Supplement Packaging Rebrands: Managing Old and New Stock Images

Coordinate supplement rebrand images with real stock availability so the website does not misrepresent the pack being shipped.

A supplement rebrand may leave old and new packaging in circulation at the same time. Agree how the business will describe that period before changing the website, retailer images and campaign assets. Do not imply customers will receive the new pack if fulfilment cannot support that promise.

Separate graphic changes from product changes

Record whether the update affects only appearance or also the product name, formula, quantity or instructions. The latter changes need separate business and regulatory review. A statement about packaging varying is not a substitute for accurately describing the actual product.

Build an asset release list

Track each SKU, old artwork version, new artwork version, approved image and planned channel update. Ask which retailers can update immediately and which have longer processes. Keep archived visuals clearly labelled so the old pack is not accidentally reintroduced into a new campaign.

Coordinate with stock owners

Use fulfilment information to choose the switch date or transition messaging.

Studio perspective

The studio recommendation is a phased, documented rollout when the stock situation requires it, not a single visual launch detached from what customers receive.

Practical review checklist

  • Appearance versus product changes
  • Stock availability confirmed
  • Channel asset list
  • Approved transition wording
