Independent studio. Direct senior involvement.
Direct senior support, from first brief to final artwork.
I bring the strategic thinking and production discipline expected from a packaging design agency, with direct access to the designer doing the work. Based in the UK and working internationally, I support founders, brand teams and creative partners across new launches, packaging refreshes, range extensions and production-critical artwork.
Every decision is considered in context: product protection, filling method, usable print area, substrate, colour process, finishes, barcode placement, mandatory information, retail environment and the practical limits of the chosen manufacturer.

Production reality
Design that has to work beyond the screen.
Strong packaging must earn attention quickly, communicate in the right order and remain workable through production. Concepts are developed with pack geometry, print method, label application, SKU navigation, coding zones, finishes and supplier tolerances in view.
Where final specifications are available, artwork can be prepared on approved manufacturer dielines with bleeds, cutters, separations, ink and finish callouts, barcode positioning and technical notes ready for supplier preflight.

Before we begin
Packaging and design service questions.
What does a freelance packaging designer handle?
Scope can include positioning, brand identity, packaging concepts, range systems, structural thinking, supplier dielines, production artwork and launch assets. The exact responsibilities are agreed against the live brief.
Can you work with an existing supplier dieline?
Yes. A confirmed supplier dieline is the best basis for accurate artwork because it defines usable panels, cutters, folds, glue areas, bleeds and technical restrictions. It should be supplied by the appointed manufacturer and validated before final artwork begins.
Do you create final print artwork?
Yes, where the agreed scope includes production artwork and the final technical information is available. Files can be prepared with the required cutter, bleed, separations, ink and finish callouts, then issued for supplier preflight and approval.
Can you support multi-SKU packaging ranges?
Yes. Range systems can be planned around flavour, strength, size, format or benefit so variants remain easy to navigate while protecting the core brand. Copy volume, barcode zones and future SKU growth are considered early.
Can retailer requirements be incorporated?
Supplied retailer specifications can be incorporated into the layout and artwork process, including requirements from Tesco, Sainsbury’s and Marks & Spencer. Final legal, retailer and technical approval remains with the brand and appointed specialists.
Do you liaise with printers and manufacturers?
Supplier questions can be handled as part of the agreed project scope, helping resolve dielines, print methods, colour, finishes, tolerances and preflight feedback without losing the approved creative intent.
Do you work with brands outside the UK?
Yes. I am based in the UK and work with founders, brand teams and creative partners worldwide. Timings, review stages and supplier responsibilities are agreed at the start so remote collaboration remains clear.
Can I commission one service without a full rebrand?
Yes. A project can focus on one defined need, such as a label refresh, artwork adapted to a confirmed supplier dieline, production artwork, a 3D render or a launch asset. The starting point depends on the quality and completeness of the existing brand and technical files.
What do you need to quote a packaging project?
Share the product, intended pack format, SKU count, supplier or dieline status, required outputs and target launch timing. Existing brand files, copy and technical information help define the scope more accurately.
Have a product, format or deadline in mind?
Let’s work out what the pack needs to do.
Share the product, proposed format, SKU count, current supplier status and target launch window. I will identify the right starting point and the design support required to move it forward.
