Crunch Press Smoked Paprika and Sea Salt crisp bag photographed among red peppers and paprika for an ingredient-led hero image.

A clear idea, brought to life with purpose.

About the project

The opportunity

CRUNCH PRESS is a self-initiated crisp packaging concept developed to explore a more editorial, ingredient-led alternative to familiar pub-snack and craft-crisp conventions. The launch flavour, Smoked Paprika + Sea Salt, needed to feel vivid and appetising while retaining enough restraint to support a premium position.

The pack had to make the product type and flavour obvious at speed, yet create a visual world distinctive enough for campaign photography, social content and retailer presentations.

Project scope

The concept covers naming, brand identity, front-of-pack hierarchy, flavour storytelling, photographic art direction, flexible bag styling and realistic product visualisation. Final ingredients, claims, weights and statutory information would be resolved against the real product and printer specification.

The design response

A flexible identity with a strong launch flavourThe final concept feels contemporary and food-led without losing the clarity required for a fast-moving snack. Brand, product type and flavour occupy distinct levels, while the ingredient image supplies both appetite and provenance cues. The system is ready to scale conceptually: keep the cream canvas, green CRUNCH PRESS identity and typographic grid; change the hero ingredient, flavour colour and supporting copy. This creates range consistency without forcing every bag to look identical.Editorial product storytellingHero...

Built to stand out. Structured to stay clear.

  1. 01

    Distinctive identity

Build a recognisable visual idea that gives the project its own clear point of view.

  2. 02

    Clear communication

Organise the message so the audience can understand the product quickly and confidently.

  3. 03

    Designed for context

Create a flexible system that stays coherent wherever the brand needs to appear.

A distinctive idea designed to work everywhere.

The pack as a piece of food publishing

The name CRUNCH PRESS suggests both the physical bite and an editorial point of view. A bold green serif wordmark creates an unexpected contrast with the warm cream bag, while a vivid red-orange flavour panel gives Smoked Paprika + Sea Salt immediate recognition.

Ingredient photography is treated as art direction rather than decoration. Peppers, sea salt and crisps become a tightly cropped still life with strong colour and tactile detail. Clean typography and generous spacing stop the photography from overwhelming the buying information.

Built around appetite and recognition

The cream base provides a stable brand block that can continue across future flavours. The photographic crop, flavour colour and ingredient styling can change by SKU, giving the range variety while maintaining a recognisable architecture.

Let’s make the next one unmistakable.

CRUNCH PRESS is built around one simple idea: let the food create the drama and let the grid create the confidence. When photography, typography and flavour architecture have clear roles, a crisp bag can feel editorial without becoming difficult to shop.
