About the project

The opportunity

CHOC MODE is a self-initiated protein truffle brand concept created to challenge the cold, technical look common in performance snacks. The brief was to combine the desirability of premium chocolate with the directness of functional nutrition, using three mini stand-up pouches for Dark Choc, Orange and Strawberry.

Each pouch needed to feel indulgent first and credible second. Protein information still had to be easy to find, but it could not overpower flavour, texture or the pleasure of the product.

Project scope

The concept includes brand naming, custom typographic direction, three-SKU packaging architecture, flavour coding, claim hierarchy and editorial product visualisation. Any nutrition or protein claims shown are illustrative and would need to be confirmed against a final formulation before print.

The design response

A range positioned between treat and functionThe final system gives CHOC MODE a clear point of difference: it looks like a design-led chocolate brand while retaining the hierarchy required for a protein snack. The name is short, memorable and flexible enough to support new flavours or formats. Each SKU uses the same proportions, typographic behaviour and information zones. Flavour colour and supporting copy change, which makes the range simple to navigate and efficient to extend.Visuals that help sell the ideaRange packshots...

A distinctive idea designed to work everywhere.

Chocolate drama, modern discipline

The visual language uses oversized retro-futurist lettering, sharp crop points and small star motifs to create a confident fashion-editorial mood. The compact pouch gives the typography enough surface area to become the main brand asset rather than a conventional fitness icon.

Dark cocoa anchors the core product, vivid orange identifies the citrus variant and saturated red-pink signals strawberry. Shared cream fields and deep brown typography hold the range together, while concise product descriptors keep the functional message legible.

A product-led campaign world

The commercial art direction places all three packs on sculptural pedestals with directional light and hard shadows. Truffles are broken, stacked and cropped into the frame so the range communicates texture and appetite rather than behaving like a sterile supplement packshot.

Let’s make the next one unmistakable.

Protein packaging does not have to look clinical to communicate function. CHOC MODE leads with taste, then makes the nutritional story easy to find. That order matters because the strongest functional brands still need to make people want the product before they ask for the numbers.
